SCRAMBLING FOR MONEY IN THE MUD AT PORTSMOUTH
Portsmouth mudlarks are now reaping a fine harvest, as the town is full of visitors for the naval review. The boys stand knee-deep in the thick black mud and scramble for the coins which are thrown to them from the harbour pier. (1) Searching for a two-shilling piece.
