Postcard dated 14 August 1919

This postcard shows people standing on the Albion Groyne which was originally built in 1876 and named the Aquarium Promenade Groyne, the name was changed in 1896 when it was enlarged. From the 18th century onwards, Groynes were built along Brighton’s foreshore to prevent coastal erosion.
